| The COE spent two days
relocating the Patons for NC & VA. Using GPS units from
the US Coast Guard Aux and NCURT, each buoy was "marked" and recorded as to
the position. This information may be found on our web page Buoy Locations.

Due to the excessive
lake level, getting under the bridge (old) at Clarksville involved lowering
the antenna's and then guiding the USCG boat to ensure clearance. It
made it, but just by a nose. That means only a couple of inches. |
Both the USCG and the
COE boats removed debris such as large logs from the lake. On the Virginia
side, at buoy 24 a tree had snagged the cable and only by luck was the tree
broken away from the buoy. It took both the USCG and the COE to do this
feat. This was quite a large tree with 5 or 6 big branches. We are glad to
have the tree out of the way and off the buoy. |
